What it does
Existing law, the Real Estate Law, defines real estate brokers and salespersons and provides for their licensure and regulation, the administration of which is committed to the Real Estate Commissioner. Existing law, as of July 1, 2018, removed the Bureau of Real Estate from the Department of Consumer Affairs and instead made it a department within the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency and renamed the bureau to the Department of Real Estate.
