What it does

Existing law, the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) , enacts various reforms to the health insurance market. Among other things, PPACA requires a nongrandfathered group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual insurance coverage to provide coverage, without imposing cost-sharing requirements, for certain preventive services, including those preventive care and screenings for women provided in specified guidelines.
