What it does

Existing law, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, which is administered by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, regulates the application, issuance, and suspension of alcoholic beverage licenses. The act prohibits an off-sale licensee from delivering alcoholic beverages from an order received over the telephone or other electronic means without requiring proof of age and identity when the beverages are delivered. Unless otherwise specified, a violation of the act is a misdemeanor.
