What it does

(1) Existing law, the Pharmacy Law, establishes the California State Board of Pharmacy, within the Department of Consumer Affairs, to license and regulate the practice of pharmacy and makes a knowing violation of its provisions a crime. Other existing law authorizes the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to maintain and operate a comprehensive pharmacy services program for facilities under its jurisdiction and requires the program to incorporate a statewide Correctional Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee with prescribed responsibilities (program committee) .
