What it does
(1) Under existing law, the campuses of the California Community Colleges and private postsecondary educational institutions regulated by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education constitute 2 of the segments of postsecondary education in this state. The bureau's authority to regulate private postsecondary educational institutions exists pursuant to the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009, which, under existing law, is to be repealed on January 1, 2021. Under existing law, the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges appoints the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges to serve as the chief executive officer of the segment.
