What it does
Existing law prohibits a person convicted of specified offenses from owning or possessing a firearm. Existing law prohibits a person who, as a result of a mental disorder, has been admitted to a mental health facility for intensive treatment, as specified, from owning or possessing a firearm. Existing law makes a violation of these prohibitions a crime.
