What it does
Existing law authorizes the governing board of a school district maintaining secondary schools, with the approval of the State Department of Education, to establish and maintain classes for adults, except programs and classes in outdoor science education and conservation education, for the purpose of providing instruction in civic, vocational, literacy, health, homemaking, technical, and general education.
