What it does
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State, upon receipt of an application for a new certificate of title, an application for a certificate of title by a transferee, an application for a certificate of title pursuant to a court order awarding ownership to the applicant, an application for a junking certificate, or an application for a salvage certificate, shall remove the current owner registration and license plate record on file associated with the vehicle's serial number before issuing a new certificate.
