What it does

(1) Existing law requires a school district to be subject to nonuse payments, except as specified, if the school district acquires or has acquired a site for school purposes, as determined by the State Allocation Board, and the school district does not use the site within 5 years of the date of acquisition for kindergarten or any of grades 1 to 8, inclusive, or within 7 years of the date of acquisition for grades 7 to 12, inclusive; or a site at any grade level that has previously been used but has not been used for school purposes within the preceding 5 years.
