What it does

(1) Existing law allows trial court records to be created, maintained, and preserved in any form of communication or representation, including paper, optical, electronic, magnetic, micrographic, or photographic media or other technology, if the form of representation or communication satisfies specified rules adopted by the Judicial Council, once those rules have been adopted. Existing law allows the court to continue to create, maintain, and preserve records according to minimum standards or guidelines adopted by the American National Standards Institute or the Association for Information and Image Management until those rules are adopted by the Judicial Council.
