What it does
(1) Existing law establishes the State Water Resources Control Board (state board) and the 9 California regional water quality control boards (regional boards) as the principal state agencies with authority over matters relating to water quality. Existing law authorizes a party aggrieved by a specified decision or order issued by the state board to obtain review of the order in superior court by filing a petition for writ of mandate within 30 days after service of a copy of the state board's decision or order.
