Existing law, the Financial Information System for California (FISCal) Act, provides for FISCal, a single, integrated financial management system for the state, and specifies that the Legislature intends for the system to meet specified objectives, including to replace the state's legacy financial management systems and eliminate fragmented and diverse reporting by implementing standardized financial management processes and systems across all departments and control agencies.
