What it does
Amends the Public Library District Act of 1991. Provides that a board of trustees of a public library district may, instead of electing a treasurer from among the trustees, by majority vote of the board, appoint and fix the compensation of a qualified treasurer that is not a trustee of the board. Effective immediately. Senate Floor Amendment No. 1 Adds reference to: 75 ILCS 5/4-4 from Ch. 81, par. 4-4 75 ILCS 16/30-25 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with changes. Further amends the Public Library District Act of 1991 and amends the Illinois Local Library Act. Provides that certain trustee vacancies shall be filled within 90 days…
