What it does

Existing law requires the Attorney General to keep records of copies of fingerprints and licenses to carry concealed firearms and other documents relating to the transfer of firearms, and authorizes the dissemination of specified information relating to firearms transactions and possession by law enforcement agencies, the courts, and other specified officers if certain conditions are met. Existing law requires local law enforcement agencies to develop a plan for reduction in the number of recovered firearms that cannot be traced due to obliterated serial numbers.
