What it does
Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services, under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed and funded by federal Medicaid Program provisions. Existing federal law requires the state's plan for medical assistance under Medi-Cal to provide for entering into cooperative arrangements with the state agencies responsible for administering or supervising the administration of health services and vocational rehabilitation services in the state.
