What it does

Requires that public bodies develop and implement policies for securely removing personal information from digital data storage devices and other electronic data storage devices owned by public body, leased by public body or otherwise under control of public body before selling, donating, recycling or otherwise disposing of device. Provides that public body may use photocopier or scanner for purpose of making copies of documents that contain personal information only if photocopier or scanner is owned by public body or federal agency, leased by public body or federal agency or otherwise under control of public body or federal agency.
