What it does

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State shall conduct a study on the feasibility of allowing the use of digital electronic license plates on passenger and commercial vehicles registered in the State. Provides that the report shall include information on the following areas: (1) jurisdictions currently offering digital electronic license plates for passenger vehicles and their creation and implementation comments; (2) jurisdictions currently offering digital electronic license plates for commercial vehicles; (3) cost of implementation and issuance in Illinois for both passenger and commercial vehicles; and (4) any benefits or deterrents to electronic vehicle…
