What it does

Existing law requires the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to, among other duties, establish standards for the issuance and renewal of credentials, certificates, and permits. Existing law authorizes the commission to issue or renew emergency teaching and specialist permits if certain conditions are met, including that the applicant passes the state basic skills proficiency test.
