What it does

Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of contractors by the Contractors' State License Board. Existing law requires a home improvement contract, as defined, to be in writing and to contain certain information, notices, and statements. Existing law requires certain of those notices and statements to be in at least 10-point or 12-point boldface type, as specified. Existing law also provides that a contractor furnishing a bond, bond equivalent, or joint control approved by the registrar of contractors need not include, as part of the contract, certain of those notices and statements.
