SB 1158 - This act creates the "Firearm Violence Prevention Act", which establishes an extreme risk protection order to prevent a person who is found to pose an extreme risk to him or herself or others from possessing, controlling, or owning a firearm.\r \r \tThis act provides that a family or household member may file a petition with the court for a temporary extreme risk order of protection. If the court finds by a preponderance of the evidence that the respondent poses a significant risk of causing personal injury to self or others by possessing a firearm, the court shall issue the temporary extreme risk order of protection as provided in the act.\r \r \tThe court shall next schedule a…
