What it does

(1) Existing law creates the Department of Transportation within the Transportation Agency. The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 creates the Independent Office of Audits and Investigations within the department, with specified powers and duties, and provides that the director of the office, known as the inspector general, is appointed by the Governor.
