What it does
Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services, under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed and funded by federal Medicaid Program provisions. Existing law requires carriers and providers of Medi-Cal benefits to utilize uniform accounting and cost-reporting systems as developed by the department, and requires these carriers and providers to provide cost information to the department as is necessary, including copies of any Medicare costs reports and settlements and any Medicare audit reports.
