1801. - Creation.#

There shall be a department of human services which shall perform the functions and services of the town relating to human services. Editor's note— This section was amended by Question 14 approved at the June 19, 2001, Special Election.

1802. - Director.#

The head of the department shall be the director of human services. The director of human services shall be appointed by the town council upon the recommendation of the town manager. 1803. - Power and duties.#

The director of human services shall have all the powers and duties relating to the poor, needy, an [and] dependent persons as may be vested in the department of human services and shall administer all welfare statutes of the state or federal government, the administration of which is delegated to the town or the director of human services.
