The purpose of this article is to establish a wastewater management district (WWMD), in accordance with the provisions of G.L., ch. 45-24.5, to ensure that onsite wastewater treatment systems (OWTS) are properly installed, operated, regularly inspected and routinely maintained to prevent malfunctioning systems and to operate as an alternative to municipal sewer systems and to further the purpose of G.L., ch. 46-13-2 which relates to the drilling of drinking water wells.
