Sec. 12-24. - Duties of deputy chief.

In the absence of the chief of police, the deputy chief shall have and exercise all the powers and duties conferred by the rules set out in this article upon the chief. At other times, he shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the mayor or chief of police.
