This chapter is adopted in accordance with G.L. 1956, § 45-24.1-1 et seq., which: (1)
Declares the preservation of structures of historic or architectural value to be a public purpose; and
(2)
Authorizes historic district zoning and the creation of an historic district commission for that purpose in each city and town.
