3.08.030 - Operative date—Contract with state.

The ordinance codified in this chapter shall become operative on the thirty-first day of January, 1960. Prior thereto, this city shall contract with the state board of equalization to perform all functions incident to the administration and operation of the sales and use tax; provided, that if this city shall not have contracted with the state board of equalization, as above set forth, prior to January 31, 1960, this chapter shall not be operative until the first day of the calendar quarter following the execution of such a contract by the city and the state board of equalization. This chapter shall not become operative prior to the operative date of the uniform local sales and use tax ordinance of the county of Los Angeles.
